Alex Kelburn is a psychic medium who knows full well where we go when we die for he has been there. But what about those in the grip of severe dementia whose minds have disconnected? Where, indeed, do they go? He knows he must find the answer. Not only for Erin, the caring, compassionate nurse who has asked it, but also for his own wife, and for friends Kallie and Trish, and the thousands of others who are grieving and bewildered because they have loved ones who have gradually disappeared until only their physical selves remain.

I am Jane Merrill Forrest and I'm very pleased to meet you!

This site features two of my novels, 'Flight of the Kingfisher' (published 2015) and 'The Waiting Gate' (publication date October 2017), both featuring my 'hero', psychic medium Alex Kelburn.

I am fascinated by all things paranormal, particularly life after death, and have spent many years investigating supernatural phenomena. Following the death of my brother from cancer at the age of 30, I read widely and talked at length to psychics and mediums, then broadened my interest to include matters ranging from angels to crop circles to sound therapy to UFOs. I did voluntary work for a stroke support group and a hospice, which led me further to question and investigate what happens to us towards the end of life and beyond. When my father died in 2006 I waited four years for the specific message from him I needed above all else, and when it came it removed any lingering doubts I'd had about the existence of an afterlife.

All these experiences influence my writing. My novel 'Flight of the Kingfisher', introducing psychic medium Alex Kelburn, was published in 2014. In October 2017 Hashtag Press will be publishing the second Alex Kelburn novel, 'The Waiting Gate', and I am working on a third Kelburn book, as yet untitled.

I have a BA (Hons) degree in English from Royal Holloway, University of London, and a Masters in Creative Writing from Bath Spa University.
